ClearCorrect FAQ’s

Clear Correct FAQ’s

Wood Orthodontics offers Clear Aligners, a clear form of orthodontic treatment that serves as an effective, discrete alternative to traditional wire braces. Below we have listed some of the most  frequently asked questions  about Clear  to provide a better understanding of what they are and how they can benefit you.

What is Clear?

Clear is an invisible orthodontic treatment that uses  a personalized series of clear aligners to push or pull your teeth into place over time. Many adult patients  want a straighter smile, but don’t want to wear metal braces for a year or more. Clear allows patients to  receive orthodontic treatment without drawing unwanted attention to their smile.

How do clear aligners work?

Each set of Clear aligners is specifically designed to fit onto your teeth and  promote movement. Each set of aligners is worn for about 2 weeks, and will gradually move your teeth into a new position. Then a new set of aligners will take its place, until the desired result is achieved.

How does the treatment process work?

To begin your Clear treatment, we will first take impressions, x-rays, and photographs of your teeth. These will provide Dr. Wood with the information he needs to develop your personalized treatment plan and start creating your custom aligners.

When the first set of clear aligners is ready, the treatment will start. Aligners are to be worn for a minimum of 22 hours a day in order to achieve the best possible results. Depending on your specific smile, Dr. Wood will determine the length of your entire treatment.

What are the benefits of Clear Aligners?

The main benefit of Clear is that it is a virtually invisible way to obtain a perfectly straight smile. Many adults choose Clear because it doesn’t disrupt their lifestyle or draw unwanted attention. Each set of aligners throughout the treatment is designed to fit securely on the patient’s teeth, ensuring an invisible, natural look.

Clear aligners are completely removable, which means that no food is off-limits. With traditional braces, it can be difficult to keep the teeth clean. However, with removable clear aligners, you can brush your teeth normally and avoid any cavities.
